We are always excited about initiatives taking place in the city that are motivated with the current to uplift, encourage and provide resources by means of education.
In an effort to do just that, TIDAL has announced a $1 million endowment program to support emerging artists.
Beginning in Detroit, TIDAL is looking to provide artists with the means and resources to ‘purse their passion.’ Open to all Detroiters who have been a resident within the city limits for at least the last 9-months, all local musicians are welcome to submit an acoustic performance to be eligible for the program!
Tidal Unplugged will craft a personalized support plan that can include living expenses, studio time and mentorship. Finalists will be expected to complete four tracks which will premier exclusively through the Tidal Rising program to raise awareness for emerging artists. Creators retain 100 percent of their rights to the master recordings. A November Tidal Unplugged showcase will spotlight the results of this ambitious investment in developing talent.
The funding to be received by artists will go towards things like:
- Access to recording & creative resources
- Industry mentoring
- Promotional support via TIDAL rising
- Opportunity to perform in a TIDAL Unplugged showcase
